SpikeSoleil (Il y a 4 mois) #23671806Yes, I do keep the figures in their boxes. I'm a collector, and NIB and NRFB are critical to the value of these items. And yes, they did cover their asses in their terms - I get that. But I also know that many people don't read the Terms & Conditions, and I'm just letting my own experience serve as a warning to others. If I help even one collector to not get screwed this way, then it's worth all the "it's not their fault" and "you should have known" crapola I'm getting from you guys...

You could most definitely sell them and recoup most money as long as the figures themselves are fine. There's a lot of people who don't mind or don't care about box damage.
Also, I'm genuinely curious if you did talk to the post office, because as I said, there's a possibility of compensation via that route.

I totally understand being disappointed over damaged boxes, especially the first time, but you seem just a tiny bit more inclined to blame HS for something that's most likely the post office's fault even after they informed you personally of their terms and even offered you an alternative than considering viable avenues to get your money back. If the box is so important, I think a few more dollars for shipping wouldn't be a huge deal when it comes to saving your investment.

No, you're not.
You're a reseller.

hugtower (Il y a 4 mois) #23628039Worthless? do you keep your figures in their boxes? Anyway, you can file a complaint with most post offices afaik so you could still possibly get compensation. It's definitely not their fault esp if they disclaim it in T&C and you have an option to pay for more packaging imo

There won't be a next time. I'm just posted here as a warning others. Not everyone is as awesome as you and reads all the fine print.

SpikeSoleil (Il y a 5 mois) #23445452Hobby Search just doesn't stand behind their products... For a while I was a big fan of Hobby Search - good inventory, reasonable prices, though they definitely gouge you on the shipping - but then I received a couple of carelessly-packed packages on different orders, where the figures inside were so closely packed that they damaged each other during shipment. Nothing too serious, but definitely an issue for a collector. So I pointed these issues out, only to get a link to their self-protective store policies and a veiled threat that I would have to pay more for shipping if I wanted better packaging. It turns out that, according to their store policies, they don't guarantee the condition of the figure boxes, just the figures themselves, and they don't take responsibility for the shipper they use. If the shipper seriously damages an item, they claim you have to contact the shipper to get compensation, not Hobby Search. Could you imagine a US-based company trying that?! It really became an issue when they sent a package that was seriously damaged during shipment - crushed actually - and the figure boxes themselves were crushed as well. So does Hobby Search offer to return or replace the damaged items. No, of course not. They again point me to their onerous store policies and tell me that I have to contact the shipper to get compensation. So beware this seller - if you want to take the chance that everything goes perfectly, they are as good as anyone, I guess, but if something goes wrong with your order, you're screwed... I paid more than $300 for worthless figures from these bozos.

CapCha (Il y a 5 mois) #23432275Does anyone know if I can use both a coupon and TOM points on the same order on Tokyo Otaku Mode? I know that you can't use two coupons on the same product but is it different for TOM points?
Nvm, I found out that you can(´。• ᵕ •。`)

Hello guys, I just joined the club here.

I've been looking around for those shops that carry old figures (as in those that are already released that I didn't pre-order --- so not necessarily old buy years).

Two shops that I currently have my eyes on are "Plamoya" and "ninoma".

Both shops have the figures that I want to purchase and I'm happy with their prices but "Plamoya" gets a negative comments about 10 days ago which now leave me on the fence once again.

ninoma seems to be okay and reliable enough up until now.

Of course what I'm looking for in those figures shops are: The item condition, their shipment handling and customer service.

So yeah, I will need opinions from you guys. About those 2 shops I mentioned, and of course shop recommendations.

theyasminshow (Il y a 6 mois) #21711516My friend made an order with them during Golden Week and it didn't ship until end of May, so don't fret. From what I'm told, they're almost always like this, but slightly faster if you proxy/forward.
Thanks for your reply!! Guess I'll just have to be patient and wait, instead of worrying

Toyo (Il y a 6 mois) #21698936I dunno if it's ok to ask this here but has anyone else experienced awfully slow shipping from Alice Books? I recently ordered some in-stock artbooks from them and 2 weeks after payment they still haven't shippedmy order : /
I'd like to know whether this is a common issue with them..

theyasminshow (Il y a 6 mois) #21653504Don't see why not, I mean, I could technically buy knives and scissors from overseas. Prohibited things are closer to flammables/explosives, drugs/alcohol, guns, etc.
That's what I figured but I went ahead and asked them to take it out of the package just in case so I won't be getting it at all. I'm fine with that, don't want to risk it really.

Sekhmet (Il y a 6 mois) #21642640Ok can "sharp" objects be sent from China and pass through US customs with no problem? My proxy just sent me a pic of my stuff and it has this item in it (don't know what it is/what it's for) that I am afraid the US customs will overreact to and open my package. I don't need them seeing my artbook and calendar full of boys touching each other.
