    This was a great essay.
It's really amazing how far the tech has gotten in regards to the Vocaloids.

I get into arguments with my brother over them.
He argues that they'll replace all the singers, I say no,
that won't happen, They'll only replace the hacks. ;)

I really hope that Sega will bring Miku back for another American concert.
If I'm lucky, it'll be on the east coast this time.

    It's been 10 years, Vocaloid.

Well, that's embarrassing. I guess that's what happens when I start reading MFC articles right after waking up in the morning; I guess the brain was not quite awake yet when I was looking at those first few paragraphs. It's interesting that you mention Beautiful Fighting Girl, as that book has been on my radar but I've never gotten around to picking up a copy.

4 and half years ago is when I learned about Vocaloid. I read some information about it, and thought it was cool and interesting to have computer programs that could sing. But it wasn't until i saw the Asahi TV report that I completely fell in love. I saw amazing potential, but I never dreamed that Vocaloid would come this far.

victorviperIl y a 7 ans#1701779Very nice article. My Miku-awareness has been steadily on the rise over the past year or so ever since I picked up Udon's Pixiv Almanac artbook; until then it had never quite fully registered with me just how popular she was. I'm looking forward to playing Project Diva now that it's getting released in the US, and hopefully it'll do well.
What prompted you to write such an in-depth survey of the history of Miku, if you don't mind me asking?

    See the Preface.
