Amiami issuesAmiami issues

I've been emailing the Amiami support a few times over the past few months and I never get a response!

Back in September, A roommate of mine moved out and she had an account with them. I was letting her use an extra spam email of mine and she had an account with amiami. I checked the account and they had sent her an email about not paying for an item so I emailed them and asked them to close that account because she had moved out and away and I explained that she used my email for the account and would no longer be using it. They emailed me back and said that was alright and closed her account.
A few days later (on my own account) after I paid for my Kyoko Kirigiri figure and she was shipped out, they closed my account! I've been emailing them every few weeks since and have had no response back. I've explained that I wasn't sure why I was locked out, and I've even asked if it had anything to do with my previous room mate's account.
I made a new account at the middle of December so I wasn't missing my preorders, and within 24 hours they locked that account out as well, and I've been emailing since trying to figure out what is going on, since they are the only preorder from japan place I trust so far, and they have reasonable prices and you can preorder without paying in full up front.

Is anyone else having this issue with accounts being locked out?

UPDATE!!!!

Amiami has a HORRIBLE attitude towards their customers when discussing an issue or misunderstanding!
------------------------------

"It would seem this all resulted from a lack of explanation on your part. Y
ou did not let us know that you were using a different account, nor did yo
u mention sharing an account with anyone (if that were the case). The only
information you gave us was that you did not know where the user of the ac
count bla****@hotmail.com was and that you wanted the account closed. We
complied with your request after making sure you were aware that that no n
ew accounts may be created, which you acknowledged.

To summarize, customers living at the same address who are shipping their
orders to the same address must use the same account to place all orders.
This information is noted in our FAQ. You should have been using the accou
nt bla****@hotmail.com (or maca*****@hotmail.com) for all orders to the ***** st. address, not separate accounts. Your account maca*******@@ho
tmail.com was in violation of our store policies but we may have been leni
ent with it had you let us know about it beforehand. You made no mention o
f this separate account when contacting us however so we determined it to
be an intentional duplicate of the account bla****@hotmail.com which you
requested that we close.

We are sorry if it sounds like we are unforgiving but due to the fact that
no mention was ever made of your separate account maca*****@hotmail.com
and that you confirmed the permanent closure of bl*****@hotmail.com afte
r we made sure you understood what that entailed, we are unfortunately una
ble to re-open any of your accounts or accept any new orders from you. Ple
ase understand that this decision cannot be reversed and we are unfortunat
ely unable to further discuss the issue."

-----------------------------

My previos email before the above response was as follows :
-----------------------------

"I understand account closures are permanent which is why I said to close her account. I did not message for my own account to be closed. I am unsure
of why then my accounts were closed alongside hers though.

Is it because it is the same address? So if people move into a house or so
mething or the owner of an account moves out, the residents of the house c
annot have or open accounts?

I am very upset that as a customer I am being punished for the doings of s
omeone else. What she did should have nothing to do with my personal patro
nage with you. I have honestly told you that the girl whose account it was
is gone.

I very much liked having an account with you and was happy with the servic
e until this, you have a wonderful service and I do wish to continue my or
ders with you. Is there any way I could have my account back for my use?I"
would appreciate her account not being held against me."

---------------

Thank you to all the people who recommended hobby link! I am currently moving my preorders to them as they seem to be favorable among the users! I will miss the preened items section, but I will just lurk around the ad community section on here in place of it!

Coleccox (Il y a 4 ans) #2617630This what im talking about in my blog, this banning thing is a mess up. But most of the ppl try to justifies their favorite shop, but in general, ban have to be more studied and analysed, case by case.

This is 100% not what you were talking about. This person was banned without warning. You're on your sixth cancellation and are mad that they told you to stop. Grow up.

@OP: I hear that they actually ban IP address? I would see if you could contact them from another computer all together. If that doesn't work, I'd be out of ideas. D:

Nothing wrong with amiami for me atm, Love using amiami because their clean and somewhat professional website layout. Their customer support aren't that bad too. Well at least for me...

I'm guessing this is just an individual case...and hopefully this wont happen to me too.

Best of luck~

PS: Amiami = new figure release.
Mandarake = Rare or Second-hand figures.

pretty much the only two website i use to order figs...

iced_wine (Il y a 4 ans) #2620227BiJ has similar discounts as Amiami, and Hobby Search carry all the non-figure stuff that Amiami carries but BiJ doesn't, so between BiJ and HS you should be covered for all of Amiami's selection. BiJ has a pretty strict banning policy also, but that has to do w/ cancellations, not sharing addresses.
HLJ is a great choice once you have issues w/ AmiAmi, but their discount is not as big as Amiami and BiJ, but if you don't mind spending an extra 5-10 bucks, you will have a very pleasant time buying from them.

I'd rather pay a few more bucks for a company that cares about their customers rather than save a few dollars and be treated like that for sure~!

I am totally checking them both out ^-^

Paulichu (Il y a 4 ans) #2620287That's a weird policy. If my brother ordered from AmiAmi I wouldn't want to share an account with him. What about a bad roommate. You piss them off, they move out, and order a crap load of stuff that you'll be stuck with unless you cancel them, and potentially lose your account.
There are just so many reasons that's not a good way to handle accounts. Omg.

Exactly! I didn't want to share my account with this girl while she was here, it has my personal info and all on it and if she made preorders on my account before taking off and didn't pay them (as she didn't with her own account) I'd be stuck with them as cancels on my account affecting me! ;^;

EternalTune (Il y a 4 ans) #2620769I'm starting to get more annoyed with AmiAmi. Back in the day they seemed a bit more caring to their customers, but lately, meh. I have a few pre-orders up until May and I will pay for them. I'd rather keep the account opened just in case, but any future orders are going to hobbysearch.

I never had problems with them until this, I very much loved their site! I managed to move everything except two of my orders over to other sites, but those two I didn't are sold out everywhere sadly.

I hear hobbysearch is wonderful! I'm going to make an order to try them out soon~! :]

Another good one I've found is anime-island for some preorders as well!

kawaiiphanda (Il y a 4 ans) #2625448Wow I'm very sorry for what happened to you :( I didn't know that Ami Ami was so strict with their policies. Even if they have a point on what they wrote to you, at least they should have asked you why you had "two accounts" or asked for an explanation instead of just closing your account without your consent.
Ami Ami must have had really bad experiences in the past to become so abruptly and harsh :(
Now that I think about, on 2013 I opened an account with them and made two orders, since I didn't know how their service worked, I left the orders there, and never received an email from them requesting payment so I just ignored it and left the account behind, I don't even remember the password to access. In November of this past year I created a new account and I have been making orders, everything has been normal, but reading your article makes me a afraid that they will notice I had already an account with them before and they will send me into exile T^T
Sorry I know that this has nothing to do with your post, but just wanted to mention it.
I haven't tried to use a different websites to make purchases, but using a proxy could be a good option and I hope all the orders you make on Hobby Link goes well. :)

It's apparently by address, so If it's the same address they will notice it seems! Doesn't matter about same names or different names, just addresses!

Maakie (Il y a 4 ans) #2629382I also lost my AmiAmi account due to something likewise. (Long story short, me and my bf each had seperate accounts and when we started living together 1 of the 2 accounts became "illegal". This happened before AmiAmi started with their banning spree and put that rule in their FAQ. About 4-5 years after using their store on only my bf's account, they decided to dig up my old account out of nowhere and say "Lol, ban everything, you should have just known about the new rules, this is not allowed.") They never replied to my e-mails either, so I just decided to give up with that store and trying to explain myself. They lost a costumer that spend lots of money there and never cancelled an order, it's their problem. There are enough alternatives to buy my figures and merchandise.
About pre-owned items btw, my personal favorite for that will always be Mandarake, in general they are also a lot cheaper than AmiAmi Pre-Owned and their costumer service is a lot better! For new orders I recommend Big in Japan!

Oh geez! They sure like to ban over that D:
Their loss though for losing ya!

I have checked out Big in Japan recently and am awaiting my first order from them! I am so far enjoying the process and not having any trouble with them ^-^

I'm definitely trying to looking into mandarake because everyone seems to like them!

xcupidxstuntx (Il y a 4 ans) #2616826Seems a bit out of order they'd tell OP it was okay and then ban them, though :/ Not arguing against the policy, just that they've said one thing and then done another.
On the topic of one account per household, if two collectors move in together, would AmiAmi merge their accounts (provided doing so wouldn't exceed any purchase limits)? Just curious.

In my case: "no". They expected us to be aware of the new rules that came up about 3 years after we moved in together even though it was an account that wasn't used for years and we completely forgot about. :I

dymitr (Il y a 4 ans) #2616893Never did understand where this great profound confidence in AmiAmi being better than the other shop comes from. I read atleast one blog a week about people having problems with them...
As for your problem; You're banned with little hope of being unbanned. Time to move on to another shop, don't you say.

Because AmiAmi is so well-known, I think a lot of people see it as a good shop for a beginner in the hobby. Most people I know that are collectors all started out at AmiAmi and only a small amount remain to buy at AmiAmi after multiple years being into the hobby.

Also they used to have a lot higher discounts than other shops in the past, nowadays there are not much differences anymore and I've seen them a lot of times more expensive than other pre-order stores!

Raiski (Il y a 4 ans) #2616915When me and my bf moved together, AmiAmi deleted my bf's account once they found out. But they were nice enough to let us choose which one they'd delete at least.

Wow, weird how you were treated well in a likewise sitaution to mine! AmiAmi doesn't make sense. o.O

Well..I really don't care or don't support with Amiami.. they just over-dramatic in my opinion..I'm sorry what happened to you..
HLJ not same accept cancel items unless you can cancel items before HLJ sent you payment email. ^^
I like HLJ and Hobby Search (who is nice let me have more days to ready pay when I have enough money. xD I asked to.)

Also I think Amiami not allow for second account.. :T
