Doujinshi. Ignition! Or not?

RazeRGBlv22Il y a 5 ansMisc
I recently ordered a doujinshi after not getting any for a very long time. I had stopped getting them, so picking one up now reminds me of the days when I regularly bought them.

Much like any collection that you suddenly stop getting cold turkey, there's always that tiny possibility that the buying might reignite from that one new order. It's a dangerous line to tread.

Sort of a double question. Do you buy doujinshi, and if you do, why?

Have you accidentally reignited buying for a series or type of item after you had stopped?

I still collect doujinshi but not near as much (they get pricey after awhile DX ) but now I only get any if there are my top favorite series (Digimon, Sengoku Basara, Death Note, Devil May Cry) but I broke that down to my favorite couples as I don't want to try to get ALL djs for each series XD So for Digimon = YamatoxTaichi, Sengoku Basara = YukimuraxMasamune, Death Note = Light/RaitoxL, and Devil May Cry = NeroxDante. For YamatoxTaichi I'll buy whatever ones I see (being my first yaoi couple ever) but the rest I tend to check for 18+ ones as its rare to find anything for them in writing and well... I LIKE my smut. 8P Though I got a few that are actually novels (I got them for the covers XD;; ) but I never have stopped buying them. I just don't look for them as much (I got a tub full of them and its already heavy to move as it. XD;; )

I still bought some doujins
I usually pick those which are easier to read (e.g. gag doujinshi) or characters anthology which include lots of illustration. There were also time when I spend most in doujinshi rather than figure. I kinda regret it coz with the ton of books that I bought I can at least buy my most wanted figure in mandarake. But since I'm not really attached with a certain fandom anymore I guess I'll have to temporarily stop right now. Right now I'm really interested with artbook doujinshi..but they're hard to get +___+

I used to collect doujinshi because I loved all the really gorgeous and unique art styles.
Now I just spend everything on video games and a few figures, so there's not much interest in doujins anymore.
I actually want to sell my tiny collection, but I don't know if the doujins I have would be popular anymore.

I've bought a couple of doujins - mostly just print collections of goofy Japanese webcomics I enjoy (Nyoro~n Churuya-san, bkub's Touhou stuff, etc.). I normally just toss them in with orders on Mandarake.

I only collect the Durarara books by Hummel and Kaiten Mokugyo. Anything else I just read online. The best way to buy doujinshi is to pick 1-3 favorite circles and only buy those books. That way you wont go crazy but you'll still get that delightful feeling of a book in your hands.

I don't buy them, I occasional download them or read some that are posted online.

I never buy a doujinshi in my life before, mostly because I do not know Japanese, even if i read it, I got no clue of what is going on.

I used to buy them a lot, but that habit petered out in recent years because I spend all my money on figures now.

I did recently buy some fanmade artbooks though. I'm looking forward to getting them~ ヽ(^Д^)ノ

I buy doujinshi periodically, primarily at cons and almost never from eBay unless it's impossible to find anywhere else. I only buy yaoi though, although I like yuri and het fine.

I haven't exactly stopped collecting a given series or type of item, but rewatching my favourite series causes a desire for more figures from that series.
