Long time, no major haul MFC. I have a literal smorgasbord from the last two months that I've spent several recent days photographing, editing to fit MFC, uploading and tagging. Some of my precious cardboard loot boxes were completely destroyed in eagerness and well before I thought I'd have this much by now.

A VERY FAIR WARNING THAT MY NEWER CAMERA PHONE TAKES BIGGER THAN 4K PICTURES WHICH HAD TO BE SHRUNK! : CLICK PHOTOS WITH CARE AS THEY ARE HUGE!

This loot post contains the following: Figures, Japanese Limited Editions, CDs, DVDs, Blu Rays, manga, stickers, magnets, high school girls, postcards, ending cards, lolis, succubi, self references, a nurse, metal bands, posters, best friends, a cat, fighting waifus and ALL MY A CHANNEL! Just look at all this loot begging to be opened and photographed!

But my story doesn't start there, no. It began back in December when my great friend went halfsies with me on this adorable Nanoha and Fate figure set for my initiation to wizardry. What does that even mean? Read here: BLOG #25742 December was also when my friends and I watched K-On! season 2 and witnessed the girls go heavy metal for their teacher Miss Sawa. When I asked my viewing buddy whether to buy or not to buy Death Devil versions of cute high school girls, his reply might have been: HELL YES!

This takes us to January 5th, starting the year right with yet more Nanoha! I've pretty much determined that if there will be one series I would wind up with more figures of over time, it's gonna be Nanoha and friends in some form. As to why this time, now I've got little ladies in formal wear and they look so cute! Even their box has a sense of fancy.

Nanoha has both a clear base and a red carpet base to pose with Fate. Together or separate, they're great!

Sometime afterwards, I remember responding to a blog on here about anime DVDs and it reminded me I never got the Oreimo Season 1 LE. Last I'd checked, it was in the $300+ range. No sooner did I mention that in my reply, I checked Ebay and found a Used - Like New copy of it for about less than half of that. A mental coin flip later, I double dipped to Aniplex of all companies and this was the payout on January 15th.

That Monday was also eventful as I had recently changed my ringtone to Nezamezuki, Chizuru Kashiwagi's special theme from Aquapazza. I explained how I got it to a co worker and randomly decided to search to see if she had any figures. She had 1 complete figure and it just so happened a seller on Ebay had her. With getting paid extra for the MLK Jr. day, I bought her with no regrets!

A couple days later, a "heavy metal" band arrives from Plamoya. I hastily tore open the box on January 20th inspect the goods from the trunk of my car while on lunch.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457570641.jpeg

After getting them home, I was happy that they used Star/Heart/Diamond/Club/Spade shaped windows that could be seen from the back and sides.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457570136.jpeg

As for Yui, Mio, Ritsu, Tsumugi and Azusa, here's them on an individual profile basis. I also particularly dig any base that has something unique going on for it, of which all of them are star shaped bases with musical notation.

Now for the group shot, I came across this image when I first searched K-On! Death Devil on Google Images to see if they made any figures for them and found this illustration. Considering they're all holding microphones, I concluded they must be based on this and did my best to match it despite no fancy wires or blue tack. I was so pleased with the result to the point that I cropped it a bit, shrunk it down and submitted it as an MFC banner.

Another week and some change brought me to January 29th, more licensed stateside anime. The ones here were the LE of Akame ga Kill and Noein with Prisma Illya 2wei and Shirobako. The prismatic box of Noein was really cool and I can't wait for the second halves of Akame ga Kill and Shirobako so I don't have to worry about cliffhangers or stopping halfway.

The following day brings us to January 30th, the day Chizuru arrives! I suppose noting that Evangelion 3.33 finally arriving counts for something, but who cares when I got my first fighting Waifu figure? Here's a pic of all of Eva 3.33's contents.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457575409.jpeg

Chizuru is the oldest figure in my collection since her original release date was back in 2002!

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457570130.jpeg
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457569884.jpeg
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457570132.jpeg

Chizuru maintains an elegant wind swept hair pose and flowing dress. Her base is very heavy, possibly even real marble, with a metal hex peg for her foot. The bottom of the base is felt covered and has a Kotobukiya sticker along with a copyright Leaf/Aquaplus 1996, referring to the original Kizuato game release. Her 2002 figure release was most certainly due to a remake brought on that same year.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457572800.jpeg
http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457572802.jpeg

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457572804.jpeg

Chizuru is very photogenic and a testament to Kotobukiya's skill even back then. Now I mentioned she was from Kizuato, but I know her from Aquapazza. I also mentioned her special theme, Nezamezuki, that plays during the game. Why don't we let YouTube fill us in on that...

HOLY SHIT! Her words as it begins (I think) are "I will... Kill You...!" proceeded by all her enhanced version specials. That image of Chizuru poised to destroy her enemies in the light of the full moon from the air... DAMN! Then her ending of "Sayonara..." followed by cleaving the screen apart with her nails... heavenly.

I tried really hard to get a picture of her during the most recent full moon in which while staring hard at the moon, I failed to notice the pothole at the end of the street and fell! I was firmly holding her foot that was connected to the base so she didn't slip but I wasn't able to brace my fall in any way, scraping up my left knee and the top of my right hand. Fortunately I didn't let go and she didn't get a scratch. Although not nearly up to my satisfaction, I took a picture of her atop my car in the full moon. I'll try again next full moon and hope for clearer skies.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457572806.jpeg

Couple days later brings us to the start of the month with another volume of One Piece, Digimon Fusion and the 1st 2 volumes of Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto! I'm eagerly awaiting to see Sakamoto's adaptation since it is supposed to be directed by the same guy who did School Rumble. Hell, I might even stream it as it airs.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457575929.jpeg

Now while I've been getting a lot of import and domestic releases, I also got my Menagea3 Kickstarter rewards on February 6th. I figured I'd add it to the loot list since it did come with some neat merch and would be the equivalent of Canadian web manga. The coolest thing there is probably the pen since Didi gets naked when you flip it over. Wait what!?

February 9th brought both a blessing and a failure to my door that day. I got The Limited Edition Strike Witches Hakugin no Tsubasa for PSP, but somehow the game wasn't included! After a big headache and Amazon filling me in, I eventually rectify the situation, but it sucked bad at the time.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457571836.jpeg

The blessing of course was finally adding my first swimsuit lady to my collection, none other than Misaka Mikoto! She also happens to be my fighting Waifu for Fighting Climax with her multiple angles of assault and range.

Curiously, her base and bottom of the box state Licensed by Funimation. Her pose is also exactly like one of the menu screens from the Railgun series. Did someone from Funimation have a hand in bringing her to sculpt? Here's the comparison:

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457573477.jpeg

Although not my cup of tea, her frill skirt is removable for a bikini bottom while her base can showcase either sand or water. Surprisingly versatile for a scale.

Oh A Channel, years ago on a whim, I purchased the DVD set and loved it! I quite literally watched it with my friend two weeks later and several more times with friends after that. I always wanted to get the series insert songs, but they were only for Japanese Limited Edition Blu Rays or DVD sets. The series soundtrack has the opening and closing along with the background music. Marina Kawano released a Morning Arch single as well, but I never could commit to buying it all.

Flash forward to 2016 and Japan's conversion rate is great! Except the day after I looked, Japan Banks announced something about "Negative Interest Rates" which shifted it by about 4 Yen against the dollar in a day. Not wanting the Yen to pick up anymore steam, I decided to buy all the Aniplex A Channel sets and CDs from CDJapan. Here the results coming on February 13th!

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457570532.jpeg

I made a major point to showcase different aspects of the artbooks in each volume across all volumes. Mind you, they all contain the aspects from the each picture (IE: they all have song lyrics), but I didn't want to show off a similar thing from another volume. Of the 2 cards displayed the one on the right is always the cover of the bonus book. Volume 1 features the 4 Koma roots, Volume 2 shows Insert Song Lyrics, Volume 3 (I think) has cast interviews, 4 shows story info, 5 has pictures from the recording studio, 6 has the back page and staff while Smile has pictures of the 4 main Seiyuus and the lovely Marina Kawano. I took another picture of the A Channel + Smile booklet to show the + prismatic printing and signature gallery. The Soundtrack had 3 art cards with character info, while Morning Arch had a bonus DVD of the song. The back of Morning Arch also shows what Marina Kawano would look like in A Channel style and is heartwarming to see.

I decided to keep the packing slip as a reminder of just how much Japan Otakus must pay for their goods and be thankful! If anyone were to claim it was my soul in paper form, it would be signed bb Kuroda.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457571838.jpeg

Less than a week later brings us to February 18th when I got Strike Witches again, this time with the game! I briefly took a picture before sundering the box and confirming I had a copy of the game. This also marks my first Nendoroid ever, but I suppose with Nendoroids, it isn't a choice so much an eventuality. Will this be my last and only? Who knows...

Now as to why Lynette has an exasperated expression, the person who assembled her gun twisted the strap around before sealing it. Trying to see if the gun came apart did exactly that, with an audible snap. Her rifle had to be glued back together, her strap cut, severely reducing its length and that glued back on. But not before realizing I had almost glued the barrel on slightly rotated. I think this killed some of my drive to ever get another Nendoroid.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457573139.jpeg

I took a picture of the booklet that had character stats on it. The lady from the 504th, the second to last girl on the second page, Junko Takei was my favorite leader as she boosted her allies core skills to leader stats. Eila and Perrine both had homing shots, so with this trio, I had quadruple homing shots!

February 20th was the day my friends and I went to MAGFest which was a lot of fun. No loot to be had there but nice memories. Monday the 22nd brought us more goodies in terms of more video games, more anime and MORE A CHANNEL!? Yes, I TRIPLED DIPPED this series and somewhere around now I had ordered all the A Channel Prize figures. Here was the contents of this day's loot, Unlimited A Channel Blade Works!

February 27th brought me the gift of Gym uniform versions of Toru and Yuko. These both come from one early skit in the series where they both untuck their gym wear. Toru is so short Run says that it is like a dress. While Toru points at Yuko stating something like "No Pantsu" to which she gets super embarrassed.

Since this is the 2nd Hori portable case I've gotten, I put the two together for comparison. Both are equally cool, but I love the near indestructible Girls und Panzer case.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457575268.jpeg

March 4th brings us to the end with the arrival of Angela Balzac of Expelled From Paradise fame. I took a flashlight to the underneath of her base and it was able to shine through and highlight the letters and kanji. I also made note of how much you should be tilting and inserting her hair piece from a conversation on her product page... to show her butt more... strictly for illustration purposes though. Honestly I bought her because of her wicked low price on AmiAmi and she looked cool with her camera device.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457570747.jpeg

I also made sure to take a grand shot of just the figures since this is MFC.

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457576624.jpeg

Finally I took two shots of my now very large A Channel collection, a high and low angle to take it all in.

Since the volume of loot was very high in such a relatively short period of time, I suppose I'll have to take the true diet of any serious collector!

http://s1.tsuki-board.net/image/600/FinalCataclsym1457571832.jpeg

I hope you've enjoyed at least some of the things on here if not all of it! I had no idea this would have taken so many hours compared to my previous and much simpler haul. May you find what you seek at a low price my friends!

So much A-Channel goodness... and yet, so limited the number of figures available. I always though A-Channel girls would look great as nendoroids, but that never came to be TT__TT. I guess A-Channel wasn't as popular as other slice-of-life anime. Truly a shame! My favorite girl is Yuuko! I just love her and I would love to get a nice figure of her, but TBH, those prize figs don't get me that excited. Have you seen this GK of Yuuko? ITEM #98523 Based on the best BD cover of the box set you got! Isn't she the cutest thing ever scuplted? A PVC dream that will never happen *heartsbreaksandfallstothefloorinapuddleofblood*.

Man, I'm like the complete opposite of you. All anime I get to watch is through internet only. I have just watched an anime on DVD once almost 10 years ago, haha! But you sure are devoted to your collection. Congrats on your huge loot!

And you would like some kimono girls? Hmmmmm, perhaps you would like to check the Yukata line from FREEing. However, that's an ever-growing line that get multiple additions in every Wonfest. You might want to be careful if you suffer from completionist disorder...

Joking aside, I always like to see when people give some love to older figures.

I was super fortunate to find with Chizuru with so much ease as I had. I saw the 2002 release date on MFC and pretty much resigned myself to her becoming a grail. Yet within 5-10 minutes I found her very reasonably priced and I can only describe that as Fate.

solluxcaptor (Il y a 3 ans) #7247644Amazing loot!! I haven't seen the series myself yet but I really love those Nanoha figures.

Nanoha and Nanoha A's are excellent series in my book. The use of magic from A's onwards is probably my favorite across all medium since they begin putting compressed magic charging cartridges into nearly every weapon. I may even be so bold to say it gave Monty Oum a few ideas for weapons and function in RWBY.

Figures-R-Cool (Il y a 3 ans) #7272490Mikoto's pose is from volume 5 of the Japanese DVD release. Funimation is only the North American distributor so it's unlikely they had any involvement.

That makes sense. I sometimes forget that there are import shops over here since I am almost always having goods exported to me.

WanderingWastrel (Il y a 3 ans) #7272755A loot post of mine inspired you? Excellent... another young, innocent soul corrupted beyond redemption. (cue maniacal laughter) But seriously, keep that receipt in case you ever get the urge for just one more imported set. I mean, I have... let's see here, I'll just look over at the shelves there and count 'em up a bit...

Oh dear. 10 series. 3 movies. 1 OVA. I guess I hadn't been keeping track, really. If you'll excuse me, I must ring up the local insane asylum and see if my room is ready. It probably is.
Edit: I just checked my iTunes, and "Kitto Zutto Motto" from A-Channel is my most played song, at 154 plays. Maybe they'll pipe it into my padded room....

I began my corruption around 1994 when I first saw Sailor Moon on Toonami. When the 1st season was available to purchase uncut back in early 2004, I officially became a lost cause. I have been tempted to get the Girls und Panzer Anzio OVA since it hasn't been licensed here, but that's about the only thing I could immediately think of getting. I find it strikingly ironic that your favorite song translates to Surely, Always, More. Did you subconsciously brainwash yourself into constantly purchasing more figures and goods? I mean, if that's the case, I'm not sure whether to be wary or impressed. *nudge*

Nekokawaii8 (Il y a 3 ans) #7273092Your loot post is a little taste of dream land! I've been spying the same Nanoha figures for awhile, i plan to get them as well. I have even more motivation now. Those rock star K-on! dolls too are freaking lovely! I have to say my favorite is that Mikoto figure complete with her foot dipped in some gorgeous sculpted water! GREAT LOOT ^-^

I'm glad yah liked what I had to showcase this time! I too pondered over what kind of classy figure I could get for my collection before going back to my Nanoha staple. The K-On! ladies was a true instance of "I want to see if they made that so I can hurry up and buy them." My normal figure purchasing habits were previously broken by K-On! so I suppose no one should be surprised. Mikoto has so far been the coolest swimsuit figure I've seen out of the series I'm familiar with.

As the Smorgasbord title suggests, I do like a lot of variety despite my legions of Figmas and Nendoroid Petites. Nanoha and Fate were picked up last year considering I had no girls in cheerleading outfits and before that I picked them up as a trio of Bunny Girls. Misaka was picked up due to not having a swimsuit scale and I wanted a really good one off figure rather than Beach Queens as I typically buy full series sets whenever possible. If I had another type of figure to consider getting, it would be a lady in a Kimono and I'd want her to be a one off since I'd rather not have another large scale set.

Truth be told, shortly after I joined MFC, I looked at your loot post with Japanese Sora no Woto BDs and it kinda inspired me to one day get at least 1 complete Japanese Limited set. I found my answer. And speaking all the way back from then, I'm eagerly awaiting the Abyss of Hyperspace movie to hit stateside this summer. I've read the manga a couple months ago, but nothing could possibly beat seeing Captain Marika in action on home theater.

Joking aside, I always like to see when people give some love to older figures.

vincexs (Il y a 3 ans) #7247309I love the A Channel stuff! Thanks for taking photos of all the BD volume extras.

You are most welcome! I'm always happy to meet another fan of A Channel. For me, getting all of that was close to 4 years in the making. Now that I've finished this, I can clean up, put figures on shelves and jam to songs like Start, Okashi na Jikan, Mermaid Sisters and Harukaze no Kagaku. Morning Arch is probably tied for favorite opening ever next to Tari Tari's Dreamer and I also loved Humming Girl and Balloon Theater.

WanderingWastrel (Il y a 3 ans) #7247342Triple-dipping with A-Channel is a wonderous thing.
Every time I see those K-On Death Devil figures, I wonder if dedicating my life to the collection of as much K-On material as possible would really be so bad.
