International shipping to SpainInternational shipping to Spain

darkrosedarkroseIl y a 2 ansAsk MFC
I am usually selling my items locally (through local eBay or local forum) and I have no experience of shipping items internationally.

Currently I have one potential buyer from Barcelona, Spain who is interested in buying an item (despite the notoriously expensive international shipping from my country). I am hoping if I can get more information from other users who are staying in Spain or who have sent items internationally to Spain:

1) Is it safe?
The reason I am asking this is that some countries (e.g Italy) are notorious enough for some international sellers to exclude from their shipping list.

2) What is the customs fee like?

I really appreciate your help and thank you in advance :)

Miau (Il y a 2 ans) #12499322I'm from Spain, for me, shipping from other countries to Spain is more or less like shipping from spain to other countries, hehe
If you want to avoid for the buyer the customs, the item better be declared less than 21€ > < Since you're from singapore. When items are sent from a country the European Union to another country of the European union we do not have to worry of the customs, but we do if it's outside of the EU
Be sure to ship the stuff well packed and that's it
If you're not convinced of the international shipping, you can offer the buyer registered shipping, since it's your first time, so you both can be sure that the package will come to their destiny
Good luck shipping your 1st international package! If you have more doubts, you can ask me if you wish, ww

Thanks :)
I have sent you a PM for help with how to write address.

I shipped to Spain once. It's pretty safe; only advice I would give you is the same that applies to pretty much any EU country; be mindful on how much you declare your package for, so recipient won't have to pay for the full customs fee. Also, when shipping internationally, try to add tracking; it's safer both for you and the recipient, especially when dealing with expensive items.

Regarding the problematic countries, they're often banned because packages tend to get "lost" on their way there, or they remain stuck forever in customs. As a consequence, customers from those countries will complain a lot about their packages not arriving, and sellers just don't want to deal with reimbursements and such. I know for a fact since my country is often featured in the banned list :P Again, you can avoid this inconvenience if you use tracking to begin.

To be fair, the reason why some shops won't ship to Italy, it's only because unregistered packages are pretty much always stol--- errr lost. Yes, lost.

darkrose (Il y a 2 ans) #12448823Hi Kenneos! Thank you so much for your input. The item of interest is a polystone statue so definitely I will send it via EMS.

Be sure to paktage it carefully, :) we don't use to have problems with custom if you mark the paktage with the exactly content. Even custom are expensive there no use to be problems with lost or anything like this once it arrive to spain

kenneos (Il y a 2 ans) #12447156Hello! I'm Spanish, as normal it is safe, but be sure that you make a proper packtage, things like send items without envelope or in gift paper use to broke in the way. Once I bought a dress of dollfie dream to a mfc user, she put it without envelope in gift paper and the package get totally broke on the way. Gladly I know someone from customs and was able to look for it.
About customs if you send things without registered it don't use to have problems, if you send by ems we have to pay: 20 euros + 21% of the price with shipping and if the package is very big 30 euros more
This is more or less :_D
