So after reading the forum page, I'm still a little confused about how buying on MFC works. I'm fine with using a PayPal transfer for money but then how can I be sure that the seller ships the item? Could any of you guys say what you did with this?

I'm sure others have said this, but using PayPal to purchase a good has pretty much the exact same protections as eBay. If the seller is trying to scam you and doesn't mail your purchase, you can make a claim and pretty easily get your money back.

If you buy from someone on here who is active and has been a member for awhile, you're probably safe. If the person has good feedback in their "shop" then you are 99.9% likely to have a good experience. I'd be wary of someone who JUST made an account - especially if they start posting a ton if sales of desirable figures. Otherwise, you'll likely be fine!

As a seller, I ask the buyer to communicate with me over Skype/Discord or some other form of a chat program. I don't ask them to show themselves on camera or speak in person if they aren't comfortable doing so, but I personally like to show them the items they are buying over a webcam and speak to them in person myself. This allows me to get to know them as well and for them to see what kind of seller I am.

The best benefit? I may make a new friend and get a chance to talk about this hobby and their own collection. It's a good opportunity to meet likeminded people.

By picking registered..that way the seller has to provide tracking.. And if they cant then you know they havent send anything.

I had many buyers picking unreg and so far most cases have been fine (2 cases package got send back..) but its more risky for me as i ship something without "proof" (luckily i get a receipt with date on it) by registered both feel more ensured :)

With paypal if you pay by goods (most sellers do ask to cover fees as we arent shops) you get buyer protection so ifnothing arrives, you get the money back

Ofc contact is important too, not every seller can ship right away :) here its hard due to work and closing times of the post office ^^"
Good luck

Never use the "friends and family" option. It's against Paypal's terms for selling/buying something (PayPal doesn't charge their transaction fee), and if there's a problem there is absolutely nothing you can do to get your money back. The extra $1-2 is well worth the buyer protection, especially since buying figures online can have many problems, like receiving a bootleg, breaking in transit, buyer never sending it and scammed you etc.

Thanks for all the help! :)

Communication is the key. I usually pack the box immediately and provide photos of proof of shipping from the post office.

That way my buyers know that it's on the way and when to expect it.

Hope that helps.

Always pay by goods & services if it's a new seller/expensive item etc. I usually ask for payment through friends & family if I need all the money without fees so I can cover shipping! But I have a lot of experience shipping items out and the feedback to back it (on Depop, MFC, etc.) so buyers usually don't have issues with my request.

In addition to the good advice below, MFC also has a built-in feedback system, so if someone tries to swindle someone else, the entire community will know. Feedback is visible both on the item's sale page as well as via a profile under Shop > Feedback.

Just pay by goods and services and if you don't get the item and the seller doesn't have proof of shipment (like a receipt + photos or tracking number) then file for a paypal claim.

I'm probably the worst example of a seller on here (but I always deliver/attend as I would like to be attended to as well). But just for the sake of adding to the types of sellers there may be, this is what I do:

I always have the buyer send the money to my paypal email with the name of the item + description. Then I manually add the tracking # in their invoice and also message it to them through MFC to notify them I've shipped it.
