    After your package arrives in your country, the "shipping track record" on japanpost becomes a little vague. It would be best to track it via the USPS site as kaezule suggested. Gl ^^

    This generally means they are sending it into the customs area to see it's worth and check if there's any applicable taxes. As well they're checking to see it's going to the right place. You'll probably get another update saying it arrived in customs/leaving customs or office of exchange.

    tools.usps.com/... check this instead, the us tracking is always much more detailed, it probably means it's in your state, or close to it.

    I can't give you a definite answer, but you can ignore it. It doesn't always pop up for me when I EMS to Canada, but I've gotten it quite frequently. It just seems to indicate that it isn't entirely static. I've gotten the message before customs took the package, but it's usually after. It's even given me the message once it reached the delivery post office once. In all cases though the package was delivered as usual.
