Taking Apart PVC Figure to RepaintTaking Apart PVC Figure to Repaint

Like many others due to the arm damage on my GSC Sakura I was sent a replacement figure which of course left me with a slightly damaged Sakura. I've decided to customise and repaint her however I've never taken a PVC apart and I'm a bit concerned about damaging the transparent layer on top of her skirt.

Does anyone have any advice for the best way to loosen the glue so she comes apart cleanly? I'd prefer if I was able to avoid wrecking the paint on her face and hair but plan to repaint all of her clothing.

Hatchuu (Il y a 10 mois) #30902977Just to echo everyone else, yes hot water is the best option for this! When I pull apart figures, I use the following: dishwashing gloves, a tub for hot water (I wouldn't pour boiling water on them, just very hot water to be safe, I just use an icecream tub), a tea towel for gripping/drying, and I use metal tongs to pick up the pieces. You'll need arm strength too!
Thanks for the extra tips ^_^

I'm going to give it a go this weekend - fingers crossed I don't damage any of the transparent cloth pieces or her hair ^_^;

I made a comment with some guidance for a specific figure some time ago. If it helps you in any way there's that.

That's really helpful! Thanks :D

Thank you!
