Hello MFC!
Today I will be sharing with you my last loot post for the year of 2018 and what a BIG way to finish off the year then with my biggest figure of the year yet!
I wanted to get a few more reviews out before the end of the year but December is always such a busy time so I certainly fell behind, regardless things should be back on track from now on. I would love to still try and do my review of Phos from “Land of the lustrous” but not sure if anyone would still be interested? Let me know!

At any rate, even though this order was quite large in size there was only a few items that made it up. Originally my December order was going to be a lot larger, but thankfully the delay gods blessed me with their presence and delayed Miku “Love is war” DX version. December is just a crappy time for figure releases, with Christmas already draining the wallet but with the summer/winter holidays packages get delayed immensely! So this was the one time where I was 100% ok with figures getting delayed, that being said I was not aware of how large this particular package was going to be till it arrived…

[WARNING - THIS IS AN IMAGE HEAVY REVIEW]

________________ AMIAMI+SURUGA-YA ORDER – DECEMBER 2018________________

Here is an overall shot of all the items from both orders! The main bulk of it is from Amiami but I also did a small box set order from Suruga-ya as I was testing out the proxy service “From Japan”, which worked perfectly for those interested! Super easy to use, prices were not crazy for shipping and you can buy across multiple online stores as well. The best part is that can store all the items you ordered in a warehouse for 50 days, giving you plenty of time to browse around and add some last minute items that might show up across the other sites! Super handy!

Featured in this order is 3 figures and 3 box sets, lets take a look at the items one by one, starting with that massive beautiful behemoth.

________________ FF 7 ADVENT CHILDREN – CLOUD STRIFE + FENRIR________________

The first item we will be taking a look at is the reason why the box was the size of my own car – The incredibly impressive Play arts Kai of Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy 7 – Advent children. The Box is absolutely massive and stands as an impressive display piece just as it is!

✜ Cloud Strife + Fenrir–Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children – Square Enix ITEM #600438

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Celestrial1547342848.png

Words cannot even begin to describe how incredibly stunning this thing is. It’s so large that I could hardly fit the whole thing in the photo in my little photography corner! The bike from Advent Children is one of my favourite vehicles in the FF universe, I absolutely love the way the bike opens up and all of clouds swords are located inside, such an insane idea! The bike itself is just astounding, while Square Enix are slowly improving on the quality of their Human figures, the quality of their vehicles/accessories are beyond anything I have ever seen.

The detailing is insane and everything looks so sleek and polished. It’s hard to imagine this is something you can actually buy as the quality literally looks like something that would be on display at the Square Enix Artnia display!
That being said, the construction process for connecting the sword holders was a nightmare. The pegs to swap and connect everything were incredible tight, which made taking things out and plugging things in a scary experience. This figure is very expensive and I can’t imagine how I would of felt if I broke anything. But with a lot of patience I put it all together and its just beautiful.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Celestrial1547342850.png

Its certainly not the cheapest way to get Cloud but I believe this version of Cloud is exclusive to this set as her has the goggles on – which is probably for the best as Square Enix is still slowly working out how to make figures based on their own characters…
But the rest of Cloud looks great! I think coupled with the bike it just makes for such an impressive display pieces, one of the gems of my collection now! The remake for FF7 couldn’t possibly come any sooner!!

________________ LLENN –GUN GALE ONLINE________________

The other two items from my Amiami order were 2 figures of LLENN from the latest Gun Gale Online anime series that just aired. I was happy that both the Nendoroid and the scale figure released at the same time as I love having hauls centered around a theme or series!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Celestrial1547342939.png

✜ LLENN – Gun Gale Online – Nendoroid by Goodsmile company
ITEM #689283

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Celestrial1547343032.png

It has been a long time since I have purchased a Nendoroid, a lot of collection consists of scale figures or if I do have nendoroids that are part of a larger collection from the same series. GGO is my favourite aspect of the SAO franchise, with Sinon being one of my favourite anime characters. So after watching the new season I fell in love with LLENN’s character straight away. Her Nendoroid is soooo damn cute! The hat is by my favourite element to this figure!
I also had no idea that Nendoroid boxes were so tiny now? They managed to cram a lot of accessories and parts into such a tiny box, I was very impressed

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Celestrial1547343036.png

To fit with the theme of the show I have her displayed on top of this post-apocalyptic broken wall landscape that came with a Sinon prize figure. I think they go together quite well! Now let’s hope GSC actually release the LLENN figma to go along with her! Hopefully at next wonderfest we get some more news.

✜ LLENN – Gun Gale Online – 1/7 scale by Kotobukiya
ITEM #689338

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Celestrial1547343117.png

The final figure as part of my order is the 1/7 scale figure by Kotobukiya – and I am very impressed with how she turned out. Given her size and quality I think she looks fantastic. I know in the community she got a bit of back lash cause the pink used on her outfit is a lot darker, but honestly I really like it. Depending on the medium the pink is either this colour or a neon pink like the Nendoroid. I think this pink seems a bit more “realistic” given the setting? At any rate I love her pose and I love the rocky base!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Celestrial1547343120.png

I am currently working on a review for this figure so keep a look out for that to be posted in the next few days! She is a great figure and I am really glad to have her in my collection!

________________SURUGA-YA BOX SETS ________________

To finish up my loot post I got 3 box sets from Suruga-ya. I love collecting DVD storage boxe’s as the art usually featured on them are exclusive and made specifically for the box. Collecting anime DVD’s and Box sets was my gate way into collecting and would love to own a box set for every anime I have seen one day. So whenever I can I try and pick a few box sets every month if I can find a good deal/rare find! Let’s take a look at them individually!

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Celestrial1547343185.png

✜ HELLSING – Box set

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Celestrial1547343188.png

The first item is an empty storage box for the original HELLSING anime series. While I have loved and owned the series for quite some time, I have always wanted to have a box set featuring the gorgeous art from the original series to put my volumes in to. I love the gothic architecture featured around the borders of the box but the highlight has to be that gorgeous art of Integra by the window. Love the blue tones and over exposed light. Such a great box design!

✜ Gun Gale Online – Box set
ITEM #741431

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Celestrial1547343190.png

Keeping with the theme of the haul I was also lucky to find for cheap the GGO box set with volume 1! I love the gritty colours and how well LLEENN contrasts with the rest of the characters. The art-style used for the Box is stunning as well.

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Celestrial1547343192.png

Inside the box is volume one of the series, featuring 2 discs ( the first 2 episodes and a character song CD ) as well as a small artbook featuring some character profiles and information about the different main weapons used by the characters, - real neat!

✜ Scum’s Wish – Box set

https://static.myfigurecollection.net/image/Celestrial1547343194.png

Last but not least – the whole reason why I did a small Suruga-ya order in the first place, to obtain this very rare storage box for the animated series “Scum’s Wish”. Scum’s Wish took me by surprise and has quickly turned into of my favourite dramas of all the time. The art is incredible, the characters emotions are all so real and raw, which is something I don’t feel is explored too often. I loved the heart ache and I loved the struggle, it was a very realistic scenario and it really connected with me. So to be able to own this box is something really special. Now I just need to track down the individual volumes for cheap to fill it up!

________________ CONCLUSION________________

Thank you for taking the time to check out my loot post for the month of December! I got some great figures and some really beautiful box sets! 2018 has been a pretty big year for my collection, especially after going to Japan and picking up a whole bunch of items! I think a new collection room tour is overdue…
Stay tuned for the review of the Kotobukiya scale figure of LLENN, but If there is anything you would like more information on, more photos of any of the items from this order OR in my collection, let me know and I’ll do my best to help out!

Hope you all enjoyed.
Thank you so much for your time,
Take care
- Ry

Marshmallowpie (Il y a 3 mois) #48234060I was waiting on the figma of Llenn, and wasn't that tempted by the nendoroid, but in your pictures she is so cute!

Hello MA=arshmallowpie!
She is super cute and actually comes with some nice accessories and alt face plates that i didn't really expect granted how tiny the box size is! I do still hope we get a figma though in the future!

Cantisama (Il y a 3 mois) #48257091That AmiAmi box! I wonder how often they get a chance to use those. December was brutal for me too. I need to learn to space out that time of year better to account for gifts and such, though end of the year delays don't make it any easier.
Nendo Llenn looks great! Excited to get mine in the next week or two. I like the sculpt on Koto's Llenn, but that dark paint turns me off. Looking forward to reading your review.

Hey Cantisama!
Honestly the box was a beast and i am STILL having trouble trying to rip it apart to put in my recycling bin! The cardboard used is so thicc and strong! crazy huge.
Let me know on your thoughts for the Nendoroid!
The review for the scale should hopefully be up by friday, seeing her in person the tone of pink used really doesnt bother me at all. Especially after getting the Box set at the same time and seeing the shade of pink used in the illustration is exactly the same. The Neon pink could be the wrong colour all along ;p

Thanks for your comment!

Llenn (Il y a 3 mois) #48233539Haha, the size of that AmiAmi Box xD
I love the pose and base of the Llenn figure. I bought the Llenn figure from Plum which has a less dynamic pose but it's also very cute (and I love the pouting face^^).
Btw. have you bought figures from Suruga-ya before? I thought about buying one from them but it is only listed as "used" without further description so I wonder about the condition and if it comes with the box.

Hello LLENN!
I agree, the pouting face on that figure is so adorable! the kind of face you just want to squish!

I have bought some figures from Suruga-ya but i mostly use it to buy rare merchandise and media related items as i find most figures i am after can be found on Mandarake instead. I have never had a figure from Suruga-ya arrive in bad condition, but i understand the concern when the description doesn't offer much. I think if it is something super rare and you cant find it anywhere else it might be worth the risk?
I have been to the Suruga-ya stores across Japan and all the figures are used and in incredible condition. I actually bought a bunch on my recent trip last May and they were all fine!

All the best and i hope that helps

Celestrial (Il y a 3 mois) #48225520Hello NyxLuna!
Isn't it stunning? I absolutely love the water colour pastel colours used, its so beautiful.
The bookcases that i have my DVD's and Manga on are the billy bookcases from IKEA. The glass that's on the middle shelves i put there myself. I bought a cheap $15 fish tank and cut it apart and used each glass side of the tank to create a little glass cover/door on the shelf. I just adjust the shelf below it and above it to be the exact same height as the glass panel so it keeps it dust free :)
I am thinking of doing a room tour at the end of the month so ill be sure to take more pictures for you!

That was really clever. I'll look forward to the room tour, I love seeing other people's setups :)

À propos de ce blog

Hello!
My name is Ry and i have been collecting for roughly 15 years. In this blog i try to review figures, Artbooks, merchandise, DVD's + CD's - Anything Anime or Video game related!

Animation is my biggest passion, it inspires me and has shaped who i am today. Art is a form in which you can communicate a feeling, emotion, a thought or concept through visuals, movement and music like no other. Being able to connect with those idea's is something i find truly special and drives my motivation in collecting!

Hope you enjoy my Blog
