Frickface (Il y a 1 mois) #57239703I feel like the only one not super impressed by this figure. The kagune is awesome, make no mistake, but I feel like she's really lacking otherwise, especially when it comes to her hair sculpt. Honestly if they put more effort there alone and made the strands more detailed and dynamic it'd probably change my opinion drastically. She also seems so shiny in areas that should be more matte in my opinion, I dunno. Maybe these are all just me and it'd be different if I saw her in person.

Koto might be leveraging cheaper price over a higher quality sculpt. The newly debuted Nero and Dante sure show how high the price can get to be otherwise, Lol. Although to be fair those are extreme examples.

Touka's hair and wardrobe left a lot to be desired, there I'll agree with you. It feels like we got cheated from a great opportunity to have the perfect Touka scale. The Kagune, base, and paint job overall does help you enjoy the figure more though. In person it gives a bigger impression.

illumi4Love (Il y a 1 mois) #57239215Touka is undoubtedly my favorite female anime character. She is heroic in every form
If I ever decide to start collecting female figures. This will probably be the first. Looks great, colors are perfect and Touka is beautiful.

It's true! Her qualities make her shine brighter than other heroines! I hope you get to add her to your collection sometime. ^^

maggie (Il y a 1 mois) #57233103So true! I think it’s actually kind of rare to find collectors like that? I think a collection can look fantastic with any kind of figures if arranged well (mixing different types, series, sizes).
I’ve been appreciating Kotobukiya over other companies lately... they seem to think a lot about figures from the same line working together in a display well, I noticed that with the latest Hero Academia ones they’re making. Each seems to be at different head heights and there is a flow in looking at them, and the bases all match. I wonder if they design them together? Additionally, they’re making nice sculpts and making characters as they are; not oversexed! I wish the quality and finish was a bit higher but it’s a fair trade off for the kind of figure I’m looking for of a character. Lastly Koto doesn’t seem to be trying to manipulate fans with super limited runs, crazy exclusive items or perceived rarity. They re-release stuff.

Totally with you on that. Clutter is definitely not the answer and it seems like a lot of collectors resort that.

And yes, absolutely! I agree on all counts about Koto! That MHA set looks fantastic and best of all, they're affordable (within today's standard for figures). I preordered that set once I saw how they would pair up with each other! Ochaco in particular was done very well. In comparison Megahouse has been on a rampage with their Naruto figures. Everything has become Limited + Exclusive at bigger prices. :(

It's honestly surprising Koto had such low sales in 2018!

    LadyLavellan (Il y a 1 mois) #57231457Hey Maggie! Thank you so much!! ^^ <3
I love when I meet another collector with an eye for color and composition! Don’t know if Koto had an arrangement like this in mind but they sure work well together!!

maggie (Il y a 1 mois) #57223707I love how you set up the spacing in your display!! It has a really great flow and uses space well, even color! Red, leading your eyes to black and then white, then across the keychains on the bottom.
