OK HI EVERYONE I am not a wiz when it comes to technology, and even more so when the website has strict rules. So, I've been trying to customize my profile and I'm uploading pictures of my best bois for my page. I upload them under chan and provide a website.

THEY END UP DELETED EVERYTIME

I DMd one of the admins here and she suggested that I upload them to various.

After doing so, they were deleted.

I guess what I'm asking is...

HOW DO YOU GUYS DO IT????

You should get a mail when your pictures get deleted usually stating the reason why.

Since you want to upload them for profile customization you have to state the usage in the picture description after uploading them and making sure they are properly sourced to the site you took them from.
No Hotlinking to the imagefile ending on .jpg,. png or .gif.

Those two are the most common issues with profile picture uploads.

picture/submit/
(random pictures are in a moderated way allowed for profile customizations and blog post illustrations - in those cases, please add in the picture description how and where you are using those pictures).

Naming the picture "profile sth" or putting it into a "for profile" folder can be overseen to easy.

Ackermance (Il y a 3 mois) #60979478How does that work, exactly? To host via tumblr:
Voir le spoilerCacher le spoileryou post ur photos there first (even as private if you'd like to keep ur blog aesthetic lol) or use others' photos
    1) right-click the image/gif you posted/want to use
    2) click "open image in new tab" to access the image's direct link/url
    3) copy the image's URL from the address bar then paste that link: [img]InThePictureCode[/img]

Via tinypic.com (downside is there's annoying pop-ups but it's quicker than tumblr)
Voir le spoilerCacher le spoiler
    1) upload the image save in your computer
    - or
    - click "URL" and paste the copied URL of the picture you found, in their box
    2) after hitting "upload now" there may be a one of those "type in the word you see" security inputs to prevent spammers I guess
    3) after it uploads you can copy the link under "MG Code for Forums & Message Boards" since it already has the code
    - or
    - copy the link from "Direct Link for Layouts" and then put that link in the image code

bada bing, bada boom ya got your pic/gif hosted n working

if you want to attach a link to a photo use this code:
[url=PasteLinkHere][img]PhotoLink[/img][/url]that way when you click on the pic it'll direct you to whatever link you put on there.
(such as the MM photo on my blog that takes you to the artist's blog when u click on it)

I agree with Kaneel. When you upload a picture and then edit it, a small window with description appears. There you can type a small note that you use it for your profile. The link below shows a picture where i did that for a blog post.

Another option is to place the note in a comment on your own picture upload. Those two manners of adding text are more visible than naming the map.

evenstar88 (Il y a 3 mois) #60922179Are your images more than 4MB each? That would be one of the reasons why they refuse to be uploaded. When I first ran into problems uploading pictures on MFC where the images wouldn't turn up, this was the reason why.
Valid files: jpeg (.jpg), png (.png) and gif (.gif) up to 4400x4400 (19M) pixels and 4MB.

I usually don't upload chan photos but instead just use the [img]link of photo here[/img] to customise, maybe you can give that a go too?

When I do it, I don't do it in bulk and make sure it specifies what the image is being used for. Things like header, background, and list icon.
