Looking for a new bunny farm.

With the delays over delays with figurine these days I find myself out of a few thousand dollars as I had received a please pay because figurine iscoming out soon. Now I am one that pays diligently I have never been banned for a site because of non payment

But paying for figurines when a day or 2 later you get an e-mail stating that the figuring you just payed is delayed well...

So to the point of the blog I am looking for a new bunny farmer. I have dealt with AmiAmi and Nippon-Yassan. The latter has close to $3000 of mine. I looked into HIJ when I ordered a 1/8 figurine but their rules state that if you buy a figurine over 20000 yen then you have to pay up front. Most bunnies cost over 20000 Yen thus this would not be a good fit for me. I am looking at the community for advice as to where they guy their figurines and why. What are the rules that need to be followed? Can you decide on a declared value? Hate paying customs...

I look forward to comments below.

Amiami tried to pull NY delay antics on me once ... I protested and they bumped my order to "shipped."

Be very wary of paypal's claim window so you don't get screwed. I will file a claim on the very last day if my order hasn't arrived just in case.

Dude, don't pull out your home's equity to pay for non emergency stuffs.

Generally all stores are the same , but since you opened this subject , I wish if I can find some stores that offers payment plan such as sideshow or prime one . So you pay as little as possible and once you complete your payment they send you a figure . Because my main problem is , due to change of reals dat of some figures I end up paying huge amount in the same months .
One more point most customer services are bad . Example I bought more than 20 figures from NY and so far 6 figures fully Paine not received , and I asked to cancel 2 of my figures and immediacy they send me a warning . Come one which kind of store ? I started to avoid them now , because I don’t like to pay for some thing well a head I rather to keep my money in my bank instead of paying full amount for a figure that is going to release 6 months from now .

I'm experimenting with Good Smile's shop for bunny Jibril. Usually, their prices are much higher than places like AmiAmi, but this time it was similarly priced (still crazy expensive). What made me try GSC is their 2000yen flat shipping, which should wind up saving a good chunk of change compared to my normal stores. I doubt they will under-value shipments however (it is technically illegal to do that, and being the manufacturer/distributor, this would be too much risk for them.)

As mentioned before, I'm pretty sure Big in Japan and Solaris will undervalue if you ask them.

Tiamat26 (Il y a 2 mois) #72060349Thanks for the comment. Yea AmiAmi are great and 80 %of my collection comes from there but I also paid close to $3800 in customs since I started to collect. That in my head equated to a lot of figurines that I could have ordered. That is why I went to NY but them charging without shipping out the product is where I have an issue.

Ahh yea, I love the idea of being able to pre-order without full paying till it ships. Though it seems like the majority of online shops don't agree :(.

The customs charges!? That really stinks customs charges so much for your area.

Edit~ Just wondering, why am I being quoted on something I didn't say?

Tiamat26 (Il y a 2 mois) #72060361They are really close to fitting the bill but they do not allow modification of declared value. In my country anything over 16000 Yen gets flagged and sometime I get lucky and have no charges but most often then not there is a $30-70 customs charge.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Oof. I see I see. Declaration values, got'cha. A lot of my customers ask for this sort of thing, so I feel for ya. If lowering the declared value so you can avoid extra fees is what you're after then you might want to try Big In Japan. Their prices can be a wee bit more than average (we're talking only a few hundred JPY), but they're one of the VERY FEW places that will allow you to request your shipment be declared at a lower value.

www.biginjap.co...

So that sort of thing is probably right up your alley. I'm not sure if they do it for someone that first signs up or not, but that's something you could easily shoot them a message about. They get back to you relatively quickly, so you should know sooner rather than later.

I also recommend biginjap. If you never cancel, then youre all settled there.
They reply, offer decent service and you pay when it gets released and a week prior to release they send a pay request but you can wait a week if you like anyways

And they declare lower value

They function almost exactly like Amiami. Their only real difference is... well, visual layout I suppose, and that sometimes some of their items differ slightly in price (sometimes a little cheaper, sometimes a little more expensive. Have you given them a try before?

What's your beef with AmiAmi? Is it just the customs fee thing?

And being an older collector I prefer to keep my cash until they need it. Even if I got a please pay $5000 because your order is ready is fine with me. I made interest on the 5 K and it will be paid off the month after no complaining that it is a big month.

Out of curiosity, what problems do you have with Amiami? Is it an import tax/shipping cost thing? In all my years of dumping thousands of dollars into them as both a consumer and as someone that's conducted professional business dealings with them I've never encountered any noteworthy issues.

That being said, since you don't like places that make you pay upfront (neither do I, hence why Amiami is my PO go-to) a lot of options get cut out. Amiami is probably the undisputed king in this fandom unless you get smashed with massive import taxes. Most other places either outright cost more, thus not being worth a mention, require a proxy (and thus cost more), or require you to pay up front. With those factors in mind it sounds like you're looking for Hobbysearch
