Hello everyone,

I recently saw an article on www.otaquest.co... that talks about the legendary female mangaka Rumiko Takahashi house tour. It was amazing to learn about what a mangaka house look like but what really interested me was to found out that mangakas also have anime figures as well.

Below, you can see Takahashi sensei's 1:1 Lum figure from Urusei Yatsura. And would you look at the facial details and poses of that 1:1, simply amazing. In fact, it might be even bigger, judging from how it looms over the stairs, but no matter. Almost immediately, it provides an indication of whose house you are entering and what you can expect going further in.

Secondly, you can find a very special, extremely limited-edition figure of Inuyasha from, well, Inuyasha. It’s not as big as the previous Lum figure, but does merit attention in the sense that there is only one of these in the world. Apparently, it was created to commemorate when the Inuyasha manga originally ended, all the way back in 2008. Having a one of a kind figure, in my opinion, is the endgame of figure collecting. How awesome would it be if you have a one of a kind figure in your room?

Last but not least, the final two items in Rumiko Takahashi’s house that have currently been shared on Twitter are a signed illustration of Ai Habara from Detective Conan by Gosho Aoyama and the author’s work desk.
I would like to personally think that Takahashi-sensei is a CoAi shipper, which goes against the mainstream ship of ShinRan. I have read somewhere that Takahashi sensei wanted to do an InuKik (which I am a hardcore shipper of) in her Inuyahsa manga but the publisher told her to do InuKag to satisfy the fans. I'm not sure but I would like to think that the creator of one of my most favorite manga of all time is also on the same ship with me haha.

While the former picture speaks to the solidarity that the two authors no doubt feel as long-time authors in Weekly Shonen Sunday, the latter provides some indication of how Takahashi actually became one of the richest women in Japan: damn hard work.

It would be amazing if you guys could share links or info about other mangakas' house/room tours as well as their figure collection. I would really enjoy learning more about what they have in their house.

CookieNelIl y a 3 jours#98558547Takahashi really has made some amazing anime/manga. Also, she works very hard on her manga which takes a lot of hard work and dedication that most people, especially at her age, couldn’t keep up with. Inuyasha is my personal favorite work by her. Also, I’ve never seen or heard of either of those figures before (:
Takahashi sensei is a legend and she has work her entire life creating such an amazing legacy for future anime/manga fans. I think she only makes hit series haha

Demigod_DanIl y a 3 jours#98558472Not surprised at all, in fact you'd kinda need to be a person like that (connections wise) to be able to own rare items like that in the first place. Which is why I don't think it's that cool because other people also work damn hard yet will never even get the chance to own something like that (while they might be a bigger fan of special item of x character also). It kinda enters the brain like C. Ronaldo buying a 1 of a kind car; his 20th, while pocketing millions a month for kicking a ball / posting some instas / saying water is better than Cola. Hard work to get to the top sure, but being in a position like that there are a bit too many 'doors that open' imo.
A position is also just that; 'right place, right time' matters a lot and it doesn't necessarily make that person unique, it just makes them adequate enough to fill that position and during that time they can pretty much just hold it without others getting a fair chance to challenge for that spot (so you could argue that if this person did not exist, someone else would've done what they did maybe a little worse, or a little better). Limited items for limited positions that cannot get challenged for the duration of the holder's existence if the holder of x limited position doesn't fuck up, basically.
I think it greatly depends on some bias that you have for the person doing the room tour though, like if I were to see a room tour of 1 of my fav artists and I'd see stuff I can recognize / relate to then it'd register differently for sure. SO answer to poll = "depends" :P

Is water better than cola though!?

SebastianLoverIl y a 3 jours#98558374I'm not surprised a mangaka would have figures/merch. To have that kind of devotion to put in the hours to be a serialized mangaka, you have to really, really love manga. I think someone posted here a while back about Araki from Jojo fame having various Jojo merch, or perhaps that was on reddit. I'd imagine most mangaka have merch/figures from their respective works either from promotional stuff or they just like it lol. What I'm most stoked about here is Takahashi also liking Detective Conan.XD I have a lot of respect for her honestly. She's a veteran mangaka and is still so prolific. Her plethora of manga hits is a testament to her talent and devotion.
I was also very surprised and happy to learn that she like Detective Conan. And I can’t believe that Takahashi sensei is still up and running after so many years. Truly a mangaka legend.
