hello mfc!

today i just wanted to make a random article about an unfortunate event that happened recently...
a little over a week ago ITEM #90773 arrived at my doorstep. i had ordered the figure from a fellow user here on mfc and she had been shipped from argentina (btw, i don't blame any of what happened to the figure on the user in question lol). when i opened the package, i saw probably the worst example of package damage to a figure i've ever personally recieved :,D

mind you the tin the figure comes in is METAL. and it isn't particularly thin metal either.

but the horror doesn't stop there...i opened the tin and while there was paper in there that had supposedly been wrapped around the figure, it must have fallen off the pieces in transit and left the pieces mostly loose in the tin...that means there are paint transfers EVERYWHERE and MANY broken pieces. it doesn't help that she was originally an assembly kit anyway, so the pieces either weren't assembled yet (and therefore were all loose to begin with) or they had been glued and come unglued.

spoiler on this one for slight NSFW (pantsu shot)

luckily this story has a happy ending, as i've since glued her back together! here she is:
https://u.cubeupload.com/Elva/20230324181157.jpg

she still has all the paint transfers on her (i don't have a magic eraser), but i don't mind too much, i don't let defects to figures stop me from enjoying them, and i think she's just aodrable :D btw, if any of y'all have similar experiences with items getting beat up in transit feel free to share!

Pit93Il y a 2 mois#122172876 yes, you should at least get an 80% refund. You bought an expensive Collectible Item and should have gotten one, not an 50 pieces Puzzle. I'm also amazed how the seller apperently knows all of this and doesnt offers an full refund immediately. Even If you Not going to ask for a refund it would be kind to at least leave an Rating on the Sellers Profile for future MFC Users planing to buy something...

ElvaIl y a 2 mois#122167033it was pretty disappointing but unfortunately the figure i got is very old and rare so i really just had to accept it XD i also don't think the seller meant for what happened to happen, as they told me theyve packaged other figures in a similar way and they were all fine lol
You had to accept dingus. I mean, you paid for an intact figure and got a bunch of scraps. Even if you wanted to keep the figure, at least ask for an 80% refund. In the end you paid for the seller's stupidity and they sit there with your hard-earned money. :/

Whether they "meant" for it to happen or not. They were the reason for letting it happen, not you. Doesn't matter what happened to their other figures, this is about your order, not their others (about which they may or may not lie about, it's honestly irrelevant).
Of course, this is "your" order, so you decide how to handle it, not me. Just giving my 2 cents. ;)

I had something similar happen to me with a seller on MFC. Also very nice and I believe them when they say something like that never happened before but I still wanted my money back and sent the broken/damaged figures back. Both figures were actually less broken than yours but they were in an unacceptable state to me (one of them was actually a grail of mine but especially BECAUSE I like the figure so much, I'm not going to settle for a broken one that I don't feel like ever displaying). I got my 500$ or so back (minus the shipping back fees and the import fees that I couldn't get back because our customs regulation is absolute nonsense and ass...).

Julia125Il y a 2 mois#122167508I also don't like to blame the seller since I can be a pushover sometimes and don't like confrontation lol but I have to agree with some previous users that the seller did not package that figure properly at all. I would either let them know or leave a bad review about it cuz you should never ship anything that poorly packaged, especially an expensive figure. Those tin cans are usually pretty easy to dent anyway, tell me the can was at least in a box?
Otherwise that sucks that she came so damaged. I've been lucky to not have an experience that bad yet, hope it doesn't happen again.
it didn't come in a box lol, the tin was just wrapped in some kind of cushioning material. I did let the seller know what happened to the figure and they were apologetic about it so I didn't feel the need to make it a big deal after that (especially because I too am very non confrontational lmao)

EnppuIl y a 2 mois#122160807OP, I get that you don't want to blame the seller for any of this, but it sounds like their packaging was clearly not adequate for international shipping. Packaging like that might fly when shipping small electronics domestically, but shipping a fragile figure like that internationally showcases either a complete lack of care, or way too high a trust in how much the people involved in the shipping process care for the parcel.the seller actually messaged me after i let them know about how the figure arrived and they said they had never had anything like that happen when they had shipped figures in the past, so either i was very unlucky or their other shipments were very lucky not to get broken lol

ChaoticDarkness1Il y a 2 mois#122160743I've been using EMS for most of my shipments from Japan this year and almost every box has arrived damaged but never to this extent. Sorry to hear about what happened but at least you were able to glue her back together. She's really cute and I kinda want to hunt down a copy myself now. I love catgirls :3dang that's unlucky, i've had some EMS shipments this year and none of them have been damaged :0 also yesss the figure is super adorable but be warned she's pretty old and hard to come across

Dr_OruIl y a 2 mois#122137177It feels to me you are a very positive or at least kind person, but there are limits.
The problem wasn't the shipping. I have received several packaged figures shipped as Surface, so they are kicked around a ship for up to tree months, and never got something like this Likewise, have shipped to countries that are known to be very bad at handling their packages, and never had problems...
This is entirely the person's fault for their TERRIBLE packaging. They should have used bubble wrap or some other way to pad this (there are these thick cardboard things that are very sliced that create a great cushion between the actual box and the insides). Not only that but, given the tin, the figure inside should have also been actually padded.
They were lazy and couldn't care less about how the figure arrived.
Even if the box hadn't been bludgeoned to death, the paint transfers would still happen because the figure itself was left to just go crazy inside the tin...
Sorry for your experience :c
yeahh i'll admit that the figure parts themselves could have been packaged a lot better lol. i just can't really find it in me to get mad at the seller since they were super kind and didn't seem to do it on purpose or anything ^^;

Mewtwo2007_67Il y a 2 mois#122136943I only ever had one instance of an order that i bought from a seller which were 3 figures came from the Netherlands, got stuck in customs hell for over a month and when they came out of customs hell they arrived like they came out from Noah's Ark. The shipping box was really damp and no it wasn't raining at the time of their arrival plus the box was beat up cuz of how moist the box was. Funny thing is that the figures and their box came untouched aside from the condition they were when the seller told me the condition of them were. I would have questioned how it got wet yet contents were unscathed but i didn't look a gift horse in the mouth.huh that's super strange...glad the figures were safe tho lol

Pit93Il y a 2 mois#122136913Holy cow, even without the insane damage, the color transfers alone would have been grounds for me to demand a refund. Firstly because when I pay for a product in a certain condition, then that's what I expect to receive. If I don't the price is not warranted anymore. Secondly, I just don't think a seller/shop should get off free for practices like this. It's just going to hurt more people in the future if they think they can get away with shit like this.it was pretty disappointing but unfortunately the figure i got is very old and rare so i really just had to accept it XD i also don't think the seller meant for what happened to happen, as they told me theyve packaged other figures in a similar way and they were all fine lol
