Commentaires Single shipment over 800USD

  • Nope. My AmiAmi monthly orders are regularly $550 - $1,200. I've never been hit with customs. I'd only worry about customs if it was $2,500 or higher.

Particularly because this site has a huge number of "omg usps ruined my box omg i wanna kill them" posts.Oh well, I will go with EMS, since it was my original plan after all

That said, if you're worried, go with EMS instead of DHL/Fed Ex/UPS as packages that are over the customs limit but still under the limit requiring the extended customs importation form (that's over $800 but less than $2000) are far less likely to get noticed when processed through USPS than they would be through a courier service.

The cost of EMS would make up the difference, though.

Customs doesn't include the cost of shipping/insurance/etc, so if the total value of the package is less than $800, you should be good as long as whoever is processing your package isn't doing something weird with the yen to US dollar conversion rate.

I've bought more expensive stuff from overseas (electronics) and never had an issue with customs. Never had that expensive an order for figures so I couldn't tell you for that specifically.
