Commentaires Figma release and price analysis

  • I'd love to see an analysis on prices on Scaled figure increasing and how many of those get put out in a year's time next.

    This is a great article!

D_A_RIl y a 2 mois#80327038Very interesting article. I'm kinda glad that there aren't a lot of figmas I like. I only got 2 and in my opinion both weren't worth the price. I was extremely disapointed, when I got ITEM #740098 and realized that you have to cut the accessories out of the background inside of the packaging. Like... Seriously? If a company charges ¥7,000 for a tiny figure and then doesn't even include the accessories they could have made out of PVC for dirt cheap, they just don't care about their customers. I was originally going to get ITEM #198355 to complete my Kill La Kill figmas, but after that experience I definitely won't.

Yeah, the base bits and stuff using the insert card has always been an odd one for me, and I've ended up forgetting it was even there for the ones that have it.

I got the Satsuki for cheap secondhand, so I didn't pay full price for her. Is she worth full price? I'd probably have to sit on the fence for that one - she does have her blades and the scissors, but you're not really getting a ton of other stuff with her.

nyugvo6Il y a 2 mois#80327118it still feels like there are less figma releases for two reasons.
    1. there's a landslide of nendoroids, as if they put 5 up for preorder each week.
    2. what gsc offers in the figma line has drastically changed. there aren't many anime releases anymore.

These two reasons probably factor into my original doubt that figma releases were drying up - if other stuff releases, it doesn't really change my perception of the release rate and I tend to be interested in both sorts of franchises.

I was really disappointed that you didn't iclude accessory count, it's one of the biggest contributor to value when it comes to action figures. it'd probably be hard work to go through all of that, but basically figma used to have accessories. now we're lucky if we get the bare minimum. aka a few faceplates and some hands. not only the price increased, you get way less for your money.

I did think someone would bring this up at some point - yeah, I don't have assloads of time so gathering this data would be impractical for me. I'd have to look at 635 figma, and no guarantee of an opened box pic to easily count what's there. I do agree this is a major issue with the line though.

one more thing I'd like to see is the origin of the characters. "anime, video games, western media, other" stuff like this.

I did think about grabbing origin, but then decided against it because I didn't know what I could really usefully do with it, as there'd be so many. Again, it'd fall into the trap of being time consuming to classify the origins - I'd only feel comfortable doing Eastern/Western split as I can pick that out easily, further classifications would take a bunch of research as there's a lot of series and games I know sod all about (especially Japanese games).
If someone was bored enough to go through an origin list and classify it, I could certainly poop out the data.

if you're willing to make the same article about SHF, and SAS I'd gladly read them. (please include rereleases vs new molds for super action statues)

Yeah, these two might produce interesting results. Hm, I did end up leaving off re-releases for the fimgas, maybe I'll do a re-release roundup if I do a few of these. Tool will've been grabbing latest release only ><. Next time I'll try and remember to modify it to grab all dates and prices XD.

as somebody who nonstop complains about this line that I used to love, this gave me some hard facts as ammo.
thank you this type of stuff is really important for me.

Very interesting analysis! If you do make a Nendoroid one, I’d be interested in reading it.
