Commentaires AmiAmi shipping preference?

  • Hey everyone so I ordered a figure from amiami with shipping SAL unregistered because I was trying to save some money and given the posts here most people didn't seem to have a problem with them. Now they sent me an email on October 7 that they have confirmed my payment and shipped the following order to me but now its November 8 and the figure is still not here and I'm starting to worry. Now it does say that SAL unregistered takes generally 2-5 weeks or
(it can take up to 8 weeks) has anyone actually didn't get there figure till about 8 weeks or not at all?

I was told that SAL Small Packet (Registered)shipping method is cheaper so I updated my preorders for Roronoa Zoro 10th Anniversary Limited Edition (8,000 JPY), Naruto Uzumaki "The Last" Movie G.E.M figure (8,360 JPY)and Dimension of DRAGONBALL Son Goku figure (5,970 JPY) had all been under Small Air Mail Packet before I changed them to SAL Small Packet (Registered) should I change them back to Air Mail Packet to avoid the figure arriving damaged? Or should I leave it alone?

I suppose my question isn't about time. I'm in no rush for my package but I just want it to be in better condition. So would ems be more liekly to be in better hands while on the way? Just pre ordered a 7400 jp Hitagi figure

I just got my item from Amiami. I used Registered SAL and it kept updating so it's pretty good for me. The item didn't have any problem came perfectly~ :)

i use mostly SAL unregistered (to USA), never had a problem. i would only use SAL registered if my item ships in the period between mid november and christmas, because packages take extra time due to the holiday rush, so i would like to have an idea of where my package is. the only instance where i used EMS was when i had an order that was close to $200, since that was a pretty big sum (for me), but that wasn't even with amiami.

largest order i have used SAL unregistered was a 11,000jpy order, and my figures arrived in great condition (knock on wood...).

so yeah, it really depends on your personal preference. if you want a small security blanket, go with SAL registered, if you want a big one, go with EMS, if you don't need one at all, go with SAL unregistered.

Everyone here knows the score, EMS for those pricey figs and you can go SAL on everything else depending on your country, but most are okay. Basically you want the coverage in those worst case scenarios. I mostly use SAL, because I am not in any paticular hurry to get my figures and never had a broken or damaged figure using it.

I used both SAL unregistered and registered. Main difference is the insurance on the package if anything happens. Yes, there is tracking on the registered but it's unreliable at times.

The only damaged box I ever got was from ToyNToys (official distributor of Good Smile Company) when I ordered Super Sonico nendoroid. So for those ordering direct for the upcoming Snow Miku, you better beware.

Has this happen to anyone else??

For some reason, if a package is unregistered and arrives at my house with nobody home; my post office holds onto it. However, if it's registered, they just dump it onto my porch without even knocking on the door.

Its good. I always use SAL registered on items that arent super expensive. and they always arrive in good condition

I'm happy with SAL. It takes about two weeks to reach me in Florida. I use unregistered if the item is under $50, like for a single Nendo or Figma; otherwise, I go with registered for the peace of mind. I have had a box or two arrive damaged, but that's not necessarily the fault of SAL. Damage could happen anywhere along the journey regardless of shipping method, including after the package has reached your country.

Thanks everyone! Since Ami says on their website that they don't recommend SAL for "fragile items" (and I have no idea what their definition of fragile is), I felt the need to ask. But it sounds fine and it's cheaper, so win-win!
