I think it's hilarious that they wrote "Birthday figure" on the box haha
Could you link me to the ebay page where you bought it? I found one on AliExpress for $25 but it doesn't have the box. I think having the box will help to protect it when being shipped so I'm thinking of getting it with the box if it's not a lot more expensive.
For the light, you could probably put a piece of yellow cellophane wrap over it to get that classic glowing pumpkin look! Or try looking for "yellow lighting gel" (that might be better)

Yep, you have to do all the painting, shading, building, ect yourself. If you're not very good at painting or just don't like it, I suggest prepainted figures, nowadays they're around the same price tag anyway.
