Ma2amune (Il y a 4 ans) #1936787I have the japanese and the us version from both figures and they are legit offcourse, but in this case they are bootlegs of the japanese versions.

Bootleg is a term used when something is produced illegally. this would not be a correct term to be used.

Draco211 (Il y a 4 ans) #1931609I was somewhat confused by how the US version is equivalent to a bootleg, since it is of the same standard as the Japanese versions albeit already assembled. I decided to contact Square-Enix themselves for more clarification on the topic and this is the response I got:
"Thank you for your enquiry. Please be aware that many of the older Merchandise items that were sold under the Square Enix Brand had different packaging according to the region (EU/US/JP) they were sold in. This may explain why your packaging is different to the original Japanese product."
Based on that response, I wouldn't really class the US Trading Arts figures as bootlegs. At best, they're simply re-releases for other regions outside Japan.

There is clearly a quality difference if you look at the Sephiroth figure. And the face paint is pretty much different with the Cloud figure too.

Ma2amune (Il y a 5 ans) #1291501The Japanese version comes in a box, the US version comes in a blister. Needless to say that the US version is the bootleg one.
