Vaikyuko (Il y a 1 jour) #45638742 just feel like we should have gotten more even with the price as low as it is.
I just want my 30 millimeters back. Maybe 30 of my dollars back too.

Jenthehen (Il y a 1 jour) #45629876Considering she’s 1/4 scale (even if she runs small for that scale), being under $100 makes her pretty cheap. Freeing 1/4 scale are around $200 these days and often with no nudity!

True, but a FREEing scale also is much higher quality and the most similar comparison would be Morikura En's kigae morning: ITEM #604595 Most shops are selling her for (after converting to USD) roughly 140-150, and she comes with two different display options. Given the quality difference, I honestly would much rather have paid the premium for a PVC version of Anubis, especially since Houtengeki is one of my favorite illustrators. Don't get me wrong, I'm alright with the price, just feel like we should have gotten more even with the price as low as it is.

Vaikyuko (Il y a 1 jour) #45629228While I do like her and I think she came out alright, the fact that she's smaller than advertised, as well as terrifyingly hollow and lightweight (seriously, I could blow her over with a strong breath) given her price? Not going to order from Insight again. I was hoping they were more like Pulchra than FOTS but...yeah. On the plus side, she's at least packaged somewhat decently versus the other products in this 3D printing umbrella.
Also, good lord, the smell from the plastic is awful.

I really like the base on this one - I'm not usually into no legs / "bust only" figures, but this was pretty creative with the "standing in water" look.

EDIT - ok, I'm in love with the photos for this. ORDERED!

7/10 overall sounds very generous after your description, although do you think maybe applying a topcoat and high grit sanding yourself would help?
It is fine for now, asides from the left arm nothing really stands out too terribly. I am fortunate that my Anubis looks pretty good. My worry about sanding is that this figure is hollow and I don't know how thin the walls of her arms are. Since it is on the backside, I have no pressure to attempt that. If one shows up and a pretty binned price, I might attempt that though.

Another thing to note about this figure, the parts that were untouched look pretty good. I am actually really impressed. The 3D lines that were perfect created a good skin like look and matte appearance. Like her chest, aside from that one scratch it looks perfectly fine. You'd have to get in real close to see them.

The printing process is not perfect though. The heating element could blob up, there could be runs, something shook the printer bed and where Insight had their guys touch up really stands out. You will see uniform lines then all of a sudden sanding marks that go in a different direction. They are mostly seen on her lower torso and lower arm area under her breast and underneath her breast. I willing to bet that since the torso was printed at a 45 degree angle, that was the side that had supports printed on and they had to sand down all those nubs.

7 out of 10 is mostly because Anubis looks cute and I love this sculpt.

kanakanakana (Il y a 4 jours) #45407654Uploaded photos and here are my thoughts on this figure.
Long version:

Thank you so much for this very very useful long version and additional pictures. Unfortunately, it seems the situation seems even worse than I thought and I no longer have any regrets having cancelled my pre-order. This clearly belongs in the "Good from Far, but Far from Good" category. This looks to me like a basis you start from, not a final product. They should have removed the 3D printing lines and any defects with sandpaper starting with say 400, then 800, and finishing with 1200 or 1500. That of course would eat into their profit margins and they would also have to make figure more solid. It is really a silly strategy from Insight to release something like this. I mean, they can only get away with fooling us once. Now that we all know this, who is going to order again?
