Shinzo (Il y a 4 ans) #2642783Just got the one off Manda for 30kyen ($240) which I thought was a decent price at first, however, I didn't realise she was brand new.... been sitting on my desk for a week and a half wondering if I should open her or not.

what's the point of collecting if you don't open your figures? Museums do not keep paintings in shipping containers.

My philosophy is: just open it! You could DIE tomorrow, and not enjoy this beautiful statue today. Money comes, money goes. Just enjoy what you have today.

Jenthehen (Il y a 4 mois) #45755087I wonder if nendos are just easier to bang out since they are so similar?

Yea, that could be it. Lots of parts could be reused. But I've noticed that Gurren Lagann seems to get some love from manufacturers even though its old. Like ITEM #540469 or ITEM #368017 from last year. It seemed like their was a renewed interest. That is why I was wondering if they might re-release it. But yea, as you said, its extremely unlikely I guess given that this particular figure is hitting the 10 year old mark now.

ddarko (Il y a 4 mois) #45752896Oh I see. Hmm. I was hoping given the nendoroids getting released for Gurren Lagann, there might be a chance that Yoko will get a re-release, particularly this version. I guess the chances are slim :(
Will have to wait for a decent priced one in the pre-owned sections I guess...

Jenthehen (Il y a 4 mois) #45752004Max Factory rarely re-releases figures to begin with, and this one is 10 years old. I don’t think companies keep the molds for that long, so it would be like making a new figure. GL and Yoko are popular, but not THAT popular. MFC clearly isn’t representative of ALL figure collectors, but fewer than 70 people on here own / have ordered this recent Yoko ITEM #720669
The interest just isn’t there for a reboot of an older figure of an older character. The companies stay with what’s new and now.
If GL got a sudden sequel or reboot then MAYBE but even then it’s not very likely (they’d probably just make a totally new figure).
