I'm glad to hear that QuestQ is solid when Rikka Winter Schoolgirl preorder opens.

I hope the school uniform will look exactly like on this motive ITEM #819924 because I got that as a desk matt. That would be so perfect. I mean obviously the pose would be different but still.

Voir le spoilerCacher le spoilerFigureditoutIl y a 1 jour#83966271Your Kanu is a figure from 2009. That's a completely different age of figure making. If you weren't the first owner all the way back then, it is also possible that someone stored her away sealed inside the box in an unclimated attic and she already got damaged before you put her up.
As with any technology, the fabrication processes have been improved greatly (and so has the price). Old Kotobukiya was indeed a low quality toy like brand, and their reputation still suffers even today, however none of the figures I received by them since 2017 were in any way flawed or not beautiful. I heard they were having some issues with Azur Lane figures though, I just don't remember what it was, so sometimes there can be problems as is with most manufacturers.
I have a figure that is as old as yours ITEM #5022 and she too had major problems. And it's by Megahouse, who are actually capable of making really good figures as well and are much liked by the community. Those were just different times. She is not leaning in a sense of her leg bending, but the connection to the base is way too slim to hold her weight so she is prone to just fall out of it. And the cast off parts of her armor were so poorly made, I literally had to glue the cape on because it wouldn't stay in.^^
I suppose it's the difference between paying 5-7k Yen or paying 17-19k Yen for a new figure. Either way back to this figure here: QuesQ is one of the best brands I know. They always take their sweet time until a figure is finally done, and then even more time delaying the actual release day. But they come out picture perfect. And much like Kotobukiya or Megahouse, their older figures totally suck. I own some of them. They used to just slap a different head onto the same body and do really sloppy paint jobs. Nowadays, they have become true artists. And it reflects in the pricing.

Voir le spoilerCacher le spoilerHOLY CRAP wrong Corporation, not Kotobuikya!! The Kanu Hot Spring Towel was "Taki Corp" ooops. Not sure your feelings on Taki Corp but yeah the quality for 2009 hot springs Kanu and naked apron Kanu were not that great. They felt cheap. I still hold onto to them for memories sake. For Kotobukiya statues owned are To Aru's Kaori Kanzaki was eh but I liked her pose but felt off on the face design and Cammy Bishoujo Line look good. I agree with Megahouse being a great company sorry to hear about your experience but like you said they made a comeback in quality. I know I have an Alleyne Megahouse 2009 and her red varient 2010 release. their quality and detail was great, her cast off was frustrating to put back, bra and cape portion, I think some paint from the cape came off on her neck.

I'm glad to hear that QuestQ is solid when Rikka Winter Schoolgirl preorder opens. Thanks for the insight FiguredItOut.

Even so I'll try my luck with Rikka. This is a different company versus Koto so I'm staying positive until preorders open.

FigureditoutIl y a 1 jour#83959795This is quite the loaded question. I looked into your profile and it seems you are from LA. It gets pretty hot there doesn't it? I'd not risk it unless you have her in a 24/7 climated room. In general nowadays figures are much less prone to leaning unless someone does something stupid like leaving them in direct sunlight. However, since PVC is still softening up when it's warm it's totally possible for this figure to lean IF the temperature goes above what's endurable for most humans. Like, when the temperature is around 35 degrees Celsius I would not worry, and that's about as hot as it gets in my place without air conditioning - I'm right below the roof. None of my one leg pose figures ever leaned during summer. Some are also quite a bit larger and thus heavier than this Rikka.

Yeah I'm in LA XD. So far my room is air conditioned. I never let it get too hot. Otherwise I will move my figures. Its just one statue that leaned sooo bad it was my Kanu Unchou Hotsprings Towel by Kotobukiya. Climate in my room always at 28° Celsius. Not sure why but I remember taking pictures day 1 to day 5 she was already face down on the shelf. Poor build?

Even so I'll try my luck with Rikka. This is a different company versus Koto so I'm staying positive until preorders open.
