Thanks for letting me know! I've seen some shops get their packages returned already but their backlog probably wasn't as big. I guess I'll check back next week then.

Thanks! Was just wondering if it's just me. I'll wait a bit longer too.

Just had a message from BiJ about my returned parcel. Parcel was posted 31st March, returned to sender status on 14th April and messaged by BiJ today (22nd).

I guess I spoke too soon earlier. I also received an email from BiJ a few moments ago letting me know my parcel returned. However, since my country is still accepting mail, they have sent me an invoice to cover the additional fees for reg airmail instead of asking what method I would prefer.

I just got the email too, but since all the shipping methods they use are suspended here, they said they'll keep it in storage for now.
I'm guessing we won't have to pay for shipping again if it's shipped by the same method?

Update: they reshipped my parcel via DHL without asking for extra fees.

Does anybody know what happens if the shipping you pay with a PO results being cheaper when the figure is released? Do they return you the difference? Or this neves happens? Thanks!

I've never seen this happen. In all cases where I preordered and paid in advance, they always requested more for shipping upon release though. Edit: I think I was just unlucky. I don't see people complaining about additonal shipping costs too much.

Yeah, that's what I thought... It's my first time ordering from them and the shipping they requested was very high (I definitely hope they don't ask for more...). Thanks for answering!!

They mostly overcharge for about 100 yen if it's like nando's. I did request the difference a few times. But it's not really worth it. Especially since they rarely answer.

YuRiPaIl y a 1 an#54693115You don't even need to let BiJ know you want to undervalue. At least for the one order I got from them, they undervalued without me asking for it. I was quite surprised when the figure I bought suddenly appeared, since I expected pretty high customs fees (nowadays you need to go to a collection point of the postal company to get your items where you need to pay customs fees, so expected it for that figure too).
Did they undervalue a lot or nah?
I was considering ordering one from them but it's more pricey than the ones I've bought so far (32K ¥) and I'm dreading the taxes at customs.
I've ordered from other shops though

In my case is a big scale. I paid 5000Y for shipping. I just hope they don't ask for even more...

I bought ITEM #549644 from them and to my surprise I did not need to pay any customs charges. I assume they undervalued to under the EU threshold of 22 euros. She was shipped using EMS, so I expected high customs duties, but luckily did not get any. I can have a look if I still have the shipping form to see what value they actually entered.

But I think you can also ask to undervalue.

That would be fantastic, and woah, that's a great undervalue. I thought that with big packages they wouldn't risk it as they tend to inspect the bigger ones more often, or idk, maybe a regular figure package doesn't count as big?

I have around 20-25 orders from them and a lot of proxies, they always undervalued.
So I usually have to think how could be the package: too big, too heavy or too strange and ask them to dont undervalue or declare a proper amount

it's quite easy, because I add a message on order page details and they always read it

I dont like to undervalue, even if in Italy customs are very high, but Big in Japan is a very reliable store and my first choice for exclusive figures

I had preordered with them ITEM #693386 choosing AirMail as an option. Today I get the paypal payment request with EMS as shipping method, without warning or anything.
It's DOUBLE the price of what the order was and my country currently is accepting both AirMail and EMS... does anyone know why!?

My guess is that the figure box was too big to be sent using Airmail Small Packet, so they 'upgraded' it to EMS. And most of the times, EMS is cheaper than Airmail Parcel Pakcet.

SPERONEE is correct, Chii's box is too big for Air Small Packet. According to HobbySearch, its dimensions are 37.8 x 28.4 x 19.8 cm. Technically it's a total of 86 cm, but when you take the protective padding in account, no way you can fit her in a Small Packet.

Consider also that they announced at the end of May that they reached storage capacity and were going to change shipping method to the cheapest available for all orders: www.biginjap.co....

I also had a couple of orders paid in March/April, they were keeping them in storage but after that announcement they sent me the additional shipping charges invoice.

It's unfortunate, but I can't blame them. They tried to keep the orders in storage as much as they could, we just have to accept shipping costs in this period are higher.

Does anyone know if you choose the "pay later" option are you allowed to pay any time between now and release (like NY) or are you locked into only paying upon release? I've always just paid up front for BIJ orders, but the release date is a year away so I'd rather pay closer to release (but might want to pay "early)
